What is Fringe?

Fringe is a world wide concept of performing arts festivals. Fringe festivals are built around open access and accept everything from classical theatre to conceptual dance. This means that anyone can participate regardless of how established or newly hatched the artist is. Fringe festivals exists in over 200 locations around the world and the number is growing each year. Fringe has become a means of communication, a platform for access, entertainment and entrepreneurship amongst artist. A network in which we are proud to include Gothenburg.
