We have two exciting collaborations with open calls for local artists - both with deadlines in the next week.
Combining movement with text
COMPASS is teaming up with Gothenburg Fringe Festival to bring together dance and movement artists with emerging playwright, actor and spoken-word artist Sarah Richardson.
We are looking for 2-4 individuals who are interested in exploring ways to combine movement with text. The group will be mentored by ilDance director Lee Brummer and work together in three sessions at Kolgruvan in Gothenburg between 4-9 of May 2023.
We are looking for participants with experience in contemporary dance - no previous experience with text-based work is required. Apply here.
To give you some context of Sarah Richardson's and Lee Brummer's work, here are some examples:
"Something to do, someone to love, something to look forward to" by Lee Brummer
"Three little words" Spoken-word performance by Sarah Richardson
The deadline for this Open Call is Wednesday, 5 April. The exact times and dates will be decided according to the availability of the participating artists. Apply here.
Emerging artists and producers at CPH Stage
KulturUngdom and Gothenburg Fringe are joining forces again in 2023 and begin this year's collaboration by offering an opportunity to go to the CPH Stage festival in Copenhagen and participate in an international programme for emerging artists and producers.
CPH Stage is a large theatre festival in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg, where they also have a program for selected artists and producers from Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. They have opened up another place, for a person from Västra Götaland. The program takes place on 8-10 June in Copenhagen. Check out more about CPH Stage See the other participants in the program
As part of the exchange, an artist from the programme will be invited to present their work at Gothenburg Fringe Festival on 1-10 September. The deadline to apply is 31 March. Fill in this form to apply.
