Gothenburg Fringe resident artist Sarah Richardson will lead an introduction to creative writing workshop on Saturday 20 May at Kolgruvan, running from 14:00 to 16:00 hrs.
Participation is free but places are limited. Reserve one of the few remaining spots in the workshop here.
Introduction to creative writing with Sarah Richardson will explore the foundations of creative writing. Whether it's looking at building structure, exploring themes or simply how to get an idea out of your head and onto paper, we will go through a series of exercises and writing tasks to get the pen flowing and over the hump of starting a project!
A mixture of prompts, writing time and discussions will take place and all questions are welcome! The workshop will be led by Sarah Richardson, who is an award-winning, published playwright and spoken word artist, so any specific interests around playwriting or spoken word can be explored.
Any type of writing or level of experience is encouraged to join as tasks can be moulded to all creative writing ventures. When booking the ticket, you will be asked to give a short description of your writing experience.
International residency with Finland and Lithuania
Gothenburg Fringe has been able to welcome Sarah for our first artist residency thanks to The European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists - EFFEA, an initiative of the European Festivals Association that offers emerging artists a platform to develop their career on an international level through festivals.
Together with FINFRINGE and Zagare Fringe, we were one of the first projects chosen to receive funding, and Sarah visited both festivals in Finland and Lithuania last week.
Alongside developing her new piece Sun Bear, Sarah has run a cross-disciplinary workshop together with young and emerging dance artists in collaboration with Compass Dance, will lead Saturday's creative writing workshop and will present a work-in-progress performance at Kolgruvan on Thursday 25 May.
