Gothenburg Fringe shows keep flooding in

With just over two months until the Gothenburg Fringe kicks-off, the vast majority of our performances have been confirmed and with just the final touches left to put on our programming, we’ll be revealing a plethora of shows throughout this week.

Our latest batch of shows feature music, theatre, dance and cabaret.

HEDY! The Life & Inventions of Hedy Lamarr by Heather Massie

An award-winning, critically-acclaimed solo show exploring the life, inventions & person of Hedy Lamarr, Viennese-born Hollywood film star of the 30s-50s.

Known as ‘The Most Beautiful Woman in the World’, Hedy stored away knowledge of munitions while married to Austrian arms dealer, Fritz Mandl. She employed this knowledge to support the US Navy’s war effort during WWII by inventing The Secret Communication System to make torpedoes more accurate.

This system is used today in a myriad of wireless systems such as cell phones, WiFi, CDMA, GPS, and Bluetooth.

Rachel Lark

Rachel Lark is the musical muse of the sex-positive revolution.

She’s a singer/songwriter who employs insightful lyricism, biting wit, incredible vocal range, and clever analysis to create a sound that is truly unique and memorable.

Listen to a selection of Rachel's performances here.

These Heavy Clouds

These Heavy Clouds is a hybrid between a concert and a live performance.

The show is based on electronic pop music, monologues and interactive video projections. The scenography features light installations and graphic design in stylistic shapes.

The Cabaretacum

by Souléla

An experimental, interactive cabaret show beginning as a performance but never ending quite the same. Hip hop and electronica serve as a base for this wild, thought-provoking experience, that culminates in a unique, audience-dependent sound-making ceremony.

Remain Invisible

by KT Yau Ka-hei

Dancers do not always have to show their bodies so openly. Just come to feel my body’s existence under your gaze. Where there are people, there are threats. Always in fear, forgot the weight of my shell. An unpackaged performance with a packaged performer. May I?

Stubborn...ing

by KT Yau Ka-hei

By using a bottle of ordinary distilled water to show the game of thrones between human and animal – where the ideas of the oppressor and the oppressed conflict.

Huvudrollen i mitt eget liv - Del 2 by Teater Uno

Are you your diagnosis?

’Huvudrollen i mitt eget liv - Del 2’ (The main role in my own life - Part 2) is a both humorous and serious story about how it is to not be understood. How it is to live with Aspergers, with Kurt Olsson’s little brother, Garfield, Olof Palme and football. Or just how it is to live.

The performance was first played at Teater UNO in May 2018.

On stage: Olov Andersén, whose life story the play is built upon, and Teater UNO´s Carl Harlén, known as the” basker man” in the Swedish TV-series “Saltön”. Directed by Sonja Gube.
