Meet The Team
Gothenburg Fringe board president
Josh Franklin
Josh joined the GBG Fringe team in 2019, thinking he would help out a little with planning the tech.
But we dragged him in deeper, eventually running the tech team that year and making sure our artists’ tech dreams came true. Surprisingly enough, he decided to stay on the team, taking on more responsibilities in different areas and becoming one of the festival’s directors in 2021.
When he is not saving the day by coming up with solutions to all our problems, Josh is a dedicated pizza baker, maths enthusiast and bassist, playing anything from catchy wedding pop tunes to chamber prog.

Co-director
Chris O'Reilly
Chris studied archaeology at the University College Dublin. Whereupon reading about the discovery of an ancient handball court in Peru, decided to make a change and begin a successful career in sports journalism.
This led him to Gothenburg where he joined the Fringe team in 2018, having been a fan of the festivals held in Edinburgh and Dublin for several years. Initially starting out as a regular volunteer, Chris is now a director for GBG Fringe and has been instrumental in creating one of Gothenburg’s most varied and exciting cultural events. Chris loves artistic gymnastics, all kinds of comedy shows and dog training.

Co-director
Liza Reuter
Liza joined the Fringe team in 2022 as a volunteer, andshe's already a seasoned pro Fringer at organizing new seasons. Maybe it's because of her studies in digital leadership, or perhaps it's because she's part of the Kulturverkstan’s "cult".
An international cultural project leader, yes she is!
Fueled by ambition and a dose of coffee Liza is strategic, with a knack for numbers, planning venues and budgets with Excel. She's also a gentle goal pusher, with a bright and energetic personality. You can't miss her contagious laugh which matches her kind nature. She tackles challenges with a smile and finds new solutions.
Liza seamlessly applies the famous German organisation and tight structure wherever and whenever she can while also being open to some very edgy and crazy art and ideas. And yes, she loves to dance!

Core team
Elin Hansson
No Gothenburg Fringe event would be the same without Elin, the longest-serving member of the team and elected President of the board for 2021.
Little did she know when she joined the team in 2017, that she would be dragged kicking and screaming into a key role within the team, a role which she took on at full speed and never looked back.
Among Elin’s many special abilities is her talent for making even the simplest technological item or concept go haywire in her presence.
Besides that, you can trust her with anything. Our Skåne native has been a producer for the festival, working on practically every aspect as well as running the volunteer programme and breathing her unique spirit into everything she does.

Core team
Sid Ray
Sid upgraded to volunteer coordinator in 2021 after his excellent contribution as volunteering venue host and artist liaison in 2020. Presenting artists and hosting audience just seemed liked his natural habitat after several years active with Sofar sounds. Happy we got our hands on him and that he stayed.
Sid's way of engaging and recognising our volunteers' needs, creates that special atmosphere giving room for chill conversations as well as problem-solving. Funny, charming and caring, he sometimes gets stuck in his churning in search for perfection. A music lover who rocks as a broomstick player (or anything else close to hand that can act as instrument).

Core team
Giulia Giubergia
The first time I met Giulia was at an improv workshop where she made me care about imaginary heavy balls we were throwing at each other. So, it's no surprise that even with a PhD and a full time job, her passion for creative arts has her involved in the Gothenburg drama community and also organising the Fringe Festival.
Part of the Fringe team since 2018, initially as a volunteer and then a core team member, she is the much-needed calm, composed and responsible head in our team and is pretty much involved in everything. Giulia puts the G in GBG Fringe!

Core team
Hanna Gödl
Raised by wolves and trained by classical musicians, Hanna is the fierce brains of the Fringe organisation. Coming in from Austria to study event management, she quickly rose to the top of Gothenburg's cultural food chain with her get-shit-done attitude and tireless energy.
She's straightforward but also very protective of her friends. When she's not helping steer the Fringe barge, you may find her writing and composing funky music with the cool kids or filling out cultural funding application forms.

Core team
Neli Ditcheva
Neli joined the Fringe team as an intern in January 2024. She is studying at Kulturverkstan in Gothenburg, a school for international cultural project leads.
Neli enriches the team with her incredible creative spirit and positive attitude. She opens new doors and lets thoughts flow.
After getting a taste of Fringe, she stays involved after her internship and continues to plan the opening event of the festival in September.
Neli is an artist herself in the field of ceramic art and painting, crossing both the Eastern European and Scandinavian artistic roads that have shaped her perception of art.
Her strength, besides her tireless creative spirit, is structuring documents and organising information.
