Dirty Chai completes Digital Days lineup
On 4-7 September, Gothenburg Fringe launch a series of live digital performances for the first time.
Our ‘Digital Days’ feature seven performances over the course of four days with acts based in the USA, United Kingdom, Estonia and Ireland performing a variety of shows.
The focus of these shows is creating a unique and shared experience for the audience, enjoyed together at the same time, not simply a pre-recorded piece to be watched on-demand. You will be watching the show together with others around the world and in some cases, be involved.
The final show to be added is DIRTY CHAI, a hip hop Bollywood musical. The colourful and crazy dramedy, which is full of heart was selected for the Hollywood Fringe Abroad award, which sees it streamed as part of Gothenburg Fringe on Sunday 5 September at 21:00 CEST.
Tickets for all of the events are available on billetto.se and information on how you’ll be able to enjoy the show will be shared in the days leading up to the performance.

DIRTY CHAI, a hip hop Bollywood musical By Lights, Karma, Action! Productions
DIRTY CHAI, a hip hop Bollywood musical, is a colorful & crazy dramedy, full of heart! Winner of the Hollywood Fringe Abroad Award, a collaboration between Hollywood and Gothenburg Fringe Festivals, which will see it live streaming to Gothenburg Fringe & Performing to an in-person audience in Hollywood.
Chai’s parents have promised her to a nice Indian boy and the wedding is in ten days. With her back against the wall, not yet ready to give in to this assault on her freedoms, Chai leaves home but unexpectedly falls in love with a charming & mysterious stranger, making a powder keg out of an already complicated situation. Chai finds forbidden love with a fearless American girl, Ronnie, and is trapped between upholding her family’s traditions or following her heart, which goes against everything she’s been taught.
Chai is a messy concoction of two very different cultures, two conflicting identities, and two opposing desires, just like the dirty chai she orders each morning- a perfect brew of espresso and chai (tea).
Filled with excitement and sarcasm, DIRTY CHAI challenges the walls of formality, fear, and judgment that separate people. Every cause has an effect in this intricately interwoven dramedy about human lives, embracing family, and the chaos of falling in love. Tickets

OKBoomer – Lockdown Poems By David Lee Morgan
Poems on science, the virus, gender, storming the capitol, rising fascism, tearing down confederate statues… I’ve been all over the place this year, locked in, watching Trump reality television and wondering what’s it going to be - revolution or the apocalypse?
(David Lee Morgan is a London, UK, and BBC slam poetry champion.)
Dicey-Online By Dan le Man
Dicey-Online is a live, online, cabaret show directed by chance. Direct from Estonia.
Cut the repertoire and fresh ideas of multidisciplinary artist Dan le Man into 18 parts. Jumble them all up. Then stick them back together in an order that is directed by the drawing of lottery balls. The show ends when the STOP ball is drawn!
Dicey-Online is guaranteed to be fresh, new and different every time it’s played.
In conjunction with the Tallinn Fringe Festival.
