International Fringe workshop with KulturUngdom

Last month, we hosted a workshop alongside KulturUngdom, focused on helping local artists take their work out of Sweden and into the big wide world of Fringe.

With 250 festivals around the world, Fringe is a global community which strives to give a platform and voice to artists of all shapes and sizes around the world and there are plenty of opportunities out there, which Hanna and Chris from the GBG Fringe team displayed in a presentation, outlining the Fringe community, tips for applications, funding and what artists need to consider when taking part in a festival abroad.

That was followed by a presentation by Matilda Klamas from KulturUngdom, a charitable organisation with thousands of members across Västra Götaland. Their mission is to work with young people to support the strategic development of cultural life in the region's 49 municipalities.

Artists present at the workshop spoke about their projects and what support they are looking for to take their next step.

Any artists within Västra Götaland interested in Gothenburg Fringe or taking their work abroad through the Fringe community is welcome to contact us on info@gbgfringe.com and artists under the age of 30 interested in what KulturUngdom can do for them should contact matilda@kulturungdom.se.
